Myself and raffle winner Greg Richardson |
This weekend in between our matches, Erik Hjorleifson and myself were at the booth we set up at Tailgators Ottawa. Here we were promoting our upcoming website Cue Sport Nation while fundraising for "Team London Nine Ball." For those of you not familiar with this team they are the 3 Juniors who qualified at the C.B.S.A Canadian Junior Championships for the World Junior Championships. This year the World Championships is in China, and the cost for the team to go is $6,000.
When informed of the fundraiser Steve Gelinas of The "Winning Stroke" and Doug Disotell of Rack-M-Up Billiards were quick to step up. Gelinas donated a "Delta Rack" and Disotell donated a "Players Cue". We packaged them together and had Kaitlin Bick and Chelsea Raso, who did an amazing job, go around to everyone in the pool hall to make sure they purchased some tickets for a good cause. We ended up raising $260 for Team London.
At this time I would like to thank Curtis and Morgan for allowing us to set up a booth this weekend, and for all their help. I would also like to thank our sponsors Rack-M-Up Billiards, the ideal place to play in Cornwall Ontario, as it has great equipment and a fantastic atmosphere to play in whether you are a competitive or recreational player. As well as The Winning Stroke , which is an online billiards product retailer. If you are looking for the best cue's or any products The Winning Stroke cannot be beat for price or service. Once again thank you to everyone who made this weekend possible and I look forward to the next event at Tailgator's! To find out more about "Team London" and how to donate click here.
